Lacey Earrings

My grandmother taught me how to make needlelace, which is a type of lace made with a single line of thread. I adapted the lace techniques to form the top portion of these beautifully delicate earrings. The stone is rose quartz. The sketch page shows an excerpt of one of my Jewelry Journals, which I consider to be my most precious asset -- ideas, sketches, inspirations. Triangular Earrings

This triangular design reminds me a lot of chain-maille. Although small, the triangle is quite substantial because of the sheer amount of metal that went into making each piece.  If you want to learn how to make this design, then follow the link below.  With the tutorial, you will learn how to connect several jumprings together to form a solid structure. You can make it with or without the dangling chains! Joanne's Earrings

These earrings were originally created for a friend and were constructed on armature circles connected together with coiled wire.  Although the design looks minimalist, the challenge was in connecting the circles at odd angles. This interesting chandelier looks like a little lady, doesn't it? Ornamental Rectangular Centerpiece

This gorgeous center piece is completely constructed from scratch: thick 18 ga sterling silver is fabricated into a rectangle and an 'S' shape, then coiled together using several feet of 26 ga sterling silver wire and sterling silver beads. Two 5mm rhinestones are attached to the center. Measures 1x1.5" and can be used as a centerpiece for a bracelet or as a pendant.

Plant

This is a polymer clay "3D painting" sculpture. The inspiration was based on a fantastical plant. Unfortunately, it broke into a million pieces, totally beyond repair. These are the only pictures I have.9.5 x 11.5 x 2"  Mixed media: polymer clay, gold leaf, glass, beads, metal foil over acrylic painted wooden surface.

Pink Face

This is part of a series of mini sculptures, or "3D paintings", created in polymer clay with mixed media. The clay is molded with the beads and then baked. After curing, the sculpture is painted with acrylics and gold leaf and finally attached to the painted wooden surface. This piece was created while in one of my frequent trips to Brazil. The inspiration for this piece was found in the Brazilian Carnival, when dancers and partygoers dress up in such exotic and exuberant headdresses and make-up, making it almost impossible to discern the features of the dancers (or gender).

Magic Pills

This sculpture is a tribute to homeopathic medicine, which my family and I have adopted for the last 28 years (Brazil's culture accepts homeopathic medicine better than some other western countries.) The piece is owned by Joanne May, my current homeopath. The center piece is a tiny homeopathic glass bottle, filled with beads. Mini Masks in Polymer Clay

These were some of the first of what turned out to be a series of mask-type objects in polymer clay. After baked, the clay was painted with gold mica powder and acrylic medium. Painted polymer clay sculptures with glass, beads and pearls, approx. 3x2" (7.6x5cm)
