"King Bidgood's in the bathtub, and he won't get out!"

In the magnificent children's book King Bidgood's in the bathtub by Audrey Wood and illustrated by Don Wood, the stubborn kind who refuses to leave the tub is shown in a variety of scenarios.

My family's favorite illustration is the one where the king goes fishing with the Duke: the tub is transformed into a fishing pond brimming with little critters. You can read more about this book and the authors here.

Inspired by this particular scene, I created this bangle, which is woven with sterling silver wire over some very swampy green garnets. And of course, I added as many little critters as I could find, lizards, turtles and frogs. The smaller light green stones are jade.

The bracelet is totally hand-coiled with more than 22 feet of hair-thin sterling silver wire. The bangle measures 1/2" wide and fits 6" to 7" wrists.

After this original, I created many dozens of reproductions upon request for commissions. It was a favorite!
