How to download videos onto Ipad and use them without wifi (for mac)

Many of us use the Ipad instead of a computer, and that comes with a number of advantages such as portability and larger screen than mobile, however, there is a serious limitation: it does not allow to download a video directly from the web onto the Ipad camera roll. Let me just clarify that this is an IPAD LIMITATION, not mine.

If you really want to carry your video lessons to watch them OFFLINE, that is, without Wifi, then you can use this (very long) work around, if you happen to have a Mac computer.

Step 1:

After purchasing your video lesson check your email and click the link provided in the email to get access to your downloads.

Step 2:

After clicking the link,  click Download to be taken to the protected download page.

Step 3:

At the protected download page, insert the given passkey.

Step 4:

After inserting your passkey, you should have access to the Video Download page. Once at the video page, scroll down until you see an orange Download button.

Step 5:

After clicking download, choose your preferred location where you want to save the video on your computer (I chose my desktop in this example). Then, click save.

Step 6:

Once you have clicked save, you can see the progress of the video download onto your computer in the upper right hand corner of whatever browser you are using. (I used safari for this example)

Step 7:

Once your video has finished downloading you should be able to see your video in the folder you saved it in.

Step 8:

After you have checked that your video is in the folder where you saved it, open your Itunes application and go to the Movies tab. Once in the Movies section of Itunes, go to File >  Add to Library.

Step 9:

After you click the Add to Library button, a new window should pop up, in this new window select your downloaded video and then click the Open button.

Step 10:

After you have clicked Open, your video should appear in your Itunes under the Home Videos tab.

Step 11:

After you see your video in your Itunes Home Videos tab, use a usb power cable (the one you use to charge your Ipad) and plug that into the usb port in your computer. Make sure the cord is also plugged into your Ipad. Your computer and your Ipad should be connected now. Now on your computer, still in the Itunes application, you should see your Ipad pop up on the left hand side .

Step 12:

After your computer and your Ipad are connected, they should be automatically synced. Once that is done, drag the video into the section under the Ipad tab.

Step 13:

After you have dragged your video over the Ipad tab, wait several minutes for your video to download onto your Ipad. Once it has finished downloading you can unplug your Ipad. Now on your Ipad open the TV application. This application comes with the Ipad, you should not have to download or install it, unless you have deleted it.

Step 14:

Once you have opened the TV app, your video should be there and now you can access it on your Ipad. If you have done all the steps correctly, you shouldn't need wifi to access your video. You will only be able to access your video from the TV application, not from the camera roll. This is an Ipad limitation, not ours.

I understand that this is a complicated, multi-step process and Im sorry that there isn't an easier way to do this. Please remember that this is an apple Ipad limitation, not mine.
